Earthquake in Chile.

To everyone we met, and all the people of Chile…

I am so sorry for the suffering this earthquake has caused you. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you and your families are all safe. Just two months ago, I fell in love with your amazing country and your people.

where the wild things are…

León Salas is the most shy yet energetic three year old I’ve meet in Chile. Max, León’s father, (I know León’s name should be Max), has been an amazing help for Samantha and I while we’ve been in Puerto Natales. Not only has he kept our bellies full by taking us to eat at his amazing pizzeria, Mesita Grande, but he has also helped with every detail as we photograph his good friend Adan.

chilean mojitos…

Jeff, Mike and I are at the base of the Calbuco Volcano at Alfredo Salas and Nicole Barriaux’s home in Puerto Varas. They were nice enough to make us a wonderful homemade dinner complete with homemade bread. After dinner, while we were doing our video logs… (yes, we are actually doing them) Alfredo made us his own creation: a Chilean Mojito. Instead of mint, he uses special limes from the north that have a surprisingly minty taste when combined with pisco… by far the best pisco drink in Chile.

just for mom.

We rented a car and drove from Santiago to Puerto Varas, one of the most beautiful cities in Chile. The drive was long and tough, but beautiful. We drove through the wine country and through Concepción, the second largest city. After 1,300 kilometers of driving we found ourselves at a hostel at the base of a snow covered volcano and surrounded by two others. These are just a few photos of the time we spent at our mid-term as we caught up with our group and shared our experiences thus far.

photos published on chilean web site :)

Quite a few of my photos from the Rock of Life Concert were published on a Chilean web site!!!

The Rock For Life Tribute Concert that Samantha and I shot yesterday was published today online. The photos might also be printed in a National Chilean Newspaper so keep your fingers crossed :)
